I had a great experience with 160 Driving Academy in Lafayette through Ivy Tech. After transferring from the Indianapolis Yard because I was not receiving the proper training- Cliff, Rob, Deion, and Jadyn all stepped in to ensure I got my CDL license. I can't say enough about this team. I highly recommend them to anyone looking into getting their commercial license. The are extremely knowledgeable, hands on, and care about their students' success. First of all thank you to Lawrence for getting me in there. Thank you T Lopez, Tony, Mike, and Trey. You guys are amazing people. You guys set me up for success and did it effortlessly. Without your guys expertise and experience learning how to drive a tractor and trailer. Would have been so much more complicated and stressful. Thank you to 160 and everybody in commerce City.

For a person for a person of my age 59 I could not picked a better place, The branch manager Aeriel was very helpfull in every part talking to me about my family problems ,job training and job placement. Brian my instructor was the most patient person I have had privilege to no and learn from because I no it was hard for me and him .I have no book smarts and things would not stick .But he got threw my my no education head.I would like to say .Thank you to Richard as well for his help.Steve for for giving me extra time and help.This could not been possible without all of them.! 1 and gotter done Thanks to all!!!!!!
Worth it!
The 160 Driving Academy staff is experienced in what they do. It is well known that everyone wishes to succeed with what they pay for. I know the cost of schooling to obtain a CDL is expensive. But, the staff in central Iowa makes sure you know what you are doing and are able to pass the state exam on your first attempt. Thank you Ken, Rick and Frank!
Class A CDL Program
My experience at 160 Driving Academy in Freeport was outstanding! With the help of Kathy Blomberg and Kelvin Hoss I was able to achieve my class A CDL on the first attempt, and had a very enjoyable time throughout the entirety of the 4 week course. I also made connections with a great group of people who I hope to see out on the road someday.
Excellent Trainer
I had the best experience with James Watson as my trainer. He gave great study materials, took his time with me but also challenged me everyday. James kept it professional with just enough humor to engage me and keep it fun and interesting. James is very good at finding both your challenges and strengths. He will explain things in a way that allows you to understand and soak in the information. He has confidence in you which enables you to have more confidence in yourself. Excellent experience and I would refer anyone to James Watson if they want to learn to drive and achieve your goals! Thanks James!

Julie the Branch Manager was very clear about the entire program. They start training you for success in the industry on Day 1. Effort and Punctuality are two of the most important things in the Trucking Industry. You have to be there, and be there 'On-Time'. Because if you aren't, someone else will be! You get your feet wet with a week (40 hours) of classroom instruction from a guy who spent many years behind the wheel. That will give you a push to start the yard training that I took at the Harvey Yard. The instructors want you to succeed and they will give you all the help you want. You will be driving on the first day learning basic skills about how the trucks operate. You will also be expected to learn about all parts of the tractor/trailer so that you can drive them safely. Driving out on the road can be intense/exciting. You are controlling a vehicle that weighs about 37,000 pounds. Max loads out on the road are a little higher. And once you pass all of your tests and get your CDL, all you have to do is apply yourself and nothing can hold you back.

Great experience
The lead instructor, Chad or daddy Chad other instructors Gabe and Tyler and Shawn were amazing very informative and very patient with me and everyone else that they were training and a shout out to Zach for all the help and resources that he made available to me. By the way, it taste like pennies and I can smell it.
