Great Yard Training, Instructors

I started 160 Drive Academy at the beginning of January. The process was easy and seamless. The first 40 hours were virtual classroom time led by knowledgeable and friendly teachers, James and Andre. The 80 hours spent in the yard learning my outside and in-cab inspection, air brake test, skills and on the road driving were my favorite part of the class. I passed by CDL Class A test on February 3. Instructors Mike, Tomorrow, Matt, Rob, and AJ were knowledgeable and approachable when asking questions. Led by yard lead Phil, this class blew away all my expectations of a driving class. I will be recommending those seeking CDL classes to 160 Driving Academy in the future. Thank you to all those I met and helped me get the most out of this class. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

Best teaching I’ve ever had

Good the 160 huntington branch was amazing in WV. Mike, Rodger, and paul do a great job teaching!

This school was GREAT!!! VERY THOROUGH and the instructor was very knowledgeable.

Big Shouts out to 160 driving academy

Where to begin the Recruiter/jay so motivating, driven and loyal, going beyond his way to change your life in a positive way to become a CDL driver The teachers in the yard Jill and Anthony are some of the best teachers and hands on training and working with the students to get you ready for that big day can say it enough 160 driving academy is fam

CDL class

It was an extremely good experience and environment. The lead driving instructor James is very professional and knowledgeable, he knew exactly how to explain the driving maneuvers in a way I was able to understand clearly. He stayed professional yet was able to keep the atmosphere light. Would recommend anyone looking to get a CDL around the Topeka area to go to 160 and have James as an instructor.

One and done!

Very good all the instructors are great teachers, I personally worked with Ralf he helped in anyway he could making sure I new everything I needed before I went to test and I went and it’s one and done no redos no fails they make sure you have the best chances to go there and pass the first time great trucks you test in and a full scale yard you will drive In and do skills that is the exact same as the test sights it’s very helpful and get plenty of time to be on the road and work on your skills there. Great school

John Harbie Evaluator

You better be prepared to learn to REALLY drive a truck. John the evaluator from Greensboro NC 110 stagecoach trail is by far the best help I got during my training journey. He keep it real and don’t play about about making sure you know everything you need to know in and out them trucks. Might need a lil tough skin at times but in this industry you’ll need it. All and all he was a great evaluator and cool guy made this training process the best it could’ve been

11/10

My experience at this training program was phenomenal! The instructors all put their heart and soul into their students and it shows. Thank you to Ralph, Spoon, Pete, and Mike!

Amazing School

Ralph, Spoon, Pete and Mike are amazing! Just hands down amazing! Listen, pay attention and FOLLOW their instructions! They are instructors for a reason. They made school fun and easy and I would recommend them any day at anytime!

Honest instructors and real world teachings

My experience was very good honestly, I have no complaints about the 160 driving academy. The 4 instructors I had all had a different way in teaching you how to safely operate and how to best teach any new drivers on how to operate these vehicles. Phil in my experience is right to the point and he wants you to succeed and gives you every opportunity to succeed if you really want to. Mike is very lad back but he will teach you more about thre real world applications to driving a 18 wheeler and keep you in high spirits. Miss T has the best analogies in teaching any new drivers and is right to the point. As she told me multiple times don't make it complicated. She also taught me the there is always away to fix it and you should never drive away from the problem but go towards its. Matt is right to point and a bit more serious at times when it's needed and a very big history buff. My branch manager Chris was great to he very helpful though out the entire time I was signed up for the course. All and all it was great, but the one I can say to any new people wanting to sign up, you have to want it and you have to be open to change.
