A Rigorous but Valuable Experience
With everything that I had to go through to obtain my Class A CDL from the online course to the yard training and even the multiple tests that had to be done. I will say with the utmost confidence that this school will provide any student with proper training, but it ultimately comes down to yourself. From the beginning on the yard with Bryan and Geno, I am very appreciative of the time spent learning, listening, and putting into practice what was mentored to me within my timeframe being with this school. Additionally, being able to witness other students succeed allowed me to fuel my passion for wanting to pass. The experience that I got from this school was the best I could have had. The ONLY issue I had was the wait time with some scheduling. And if I had to tell another student who is going to start/ wants to get their CDL. Please and I mean this dearly, listen with your eyes and ears. DO NOT and I repeat, DO NOT THINK THIS IS EASY! Go into this class eager and humble, and not cocky and ignorant. But with that being said, I am thankful to those who taught me, and for the effort that I put into myself. Good luck to everyone else on their journeys with this school, and the future to come. Thank you.
Passed all test
Everyone was always willing to teach me and , answer any questions I had. They all did the best they could with what they had to make sure I was able to pass the all test. Yuan went the extra mile to make sure I was able to pass the tests, I felt that he wanted to make sure we knew everything we needed to know to pass. He was a big reason why i was able to get me license.Thank you to everyone at 160 Driving Academy of Oceanside.

One and done on my written exam and one and done on my driving exam Shawn Gibbs and Mike had a bunch of knowledge that they poured on me in a short time and pushed me through to the finish line Wouldn’t have had it any other way Thankyou so much
Trucking Is Life
Had an awesome time. Learned a lot from all instructors they pushed and motivated me to knock it out safely and efficiently. Great school to go to to learn basics and get ur CDLS 10/10 gonna miss those guys.
Excellent Instructors
Paul and Chris are excellent instructors. The Marmet Yard is rough and needs gravel, but the yard instructors do their best to train everyone up in their 3 week training period. The class size depends on how many the local branch sends out. Sometimes up to 12, sometimes down to 4. The company still does a good job training students despite limited resources.
Greatest Experience
My experience was Challenging, useful, and Supportive. The Coaches and Staff were very professional, passionate and helpful. They made me believe in myself when I had doubts. The Coach that I learned the most from was J.C. Without him , I might’ve given up, but he motivated me and gave me confidence that I got it!! And I succeeded and I’m a Great driver making good money. Thanks 160 Driving Academy!!
Ihosvany Marquez is the best
If you are looking to get your CDL, do yourself a favor and ask for Ihosvany Marquez. He is hands-down the best instructor out there! He is incredibly patient, deeply knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about his students' success. Passing the pre-trip inspection and backing maneuvers can be incredibly stressful, but Ihosvany breaks everything down so it’s easy to understand. Thanks to his excellent coaching, I passed my test with confidence. Thank you, Ihosvany, for helping me start this new career!
Not flexible enough for most student's needs.
They try to force students through the program too fast. Not everyone is in a big hurry to get their CDL. They don't ask you when you want to take the driving exam. They tell you. There are not enough instructors out there to give you adequate training. You either pick it up quickly or else you're out. Don't expect much from these guys. Do your research before paying them. This program is not right for everyone.
My Great Experience
Where can I even start… Julie, Eiman, or Mary? It took me a while because I was doing the weekend program, but from day one Julie and Eiman were there hand in hand with me through the whole journey. This is the place where my future started and where I began a new road toward success. I would not be where I am today without God and His soldiers on the ground — Julie and Eiman. You guys have been nothing but amazing, supportive, and helpful every step of the way. If you truly want to change your life around, this is the place, and these are the people to do it with.
Great Experience
Came into this a little worried I wouldn't grasp it in time, but the instructors at 160 Barstow were extremely patient, helpful, and professional. I got my CDL now and can't wait to start my career on the open road! Thank you Dom, Zovan, and Jay for all you have done for me and continue to do for other students.
