160 Shreveport

Shreveport 160 was a good choice for me to make for getting my CDL. Everything was great about the program except the actual training area. The yard was in terrible shape with large holes to avoid while trying to learn your maneuvers for your test. When it rained, there was entire sections you had to avoid to prevent getting the truck stuck. Along with the yard, some of the equipment was in bad shape due to bouncing around that yard so much. The standard trucks and the trailers were in pretty bad shape with bad air bags and air leaks. The yard make it harder for students to learn and made it harder for the instructors to do their jobs too. The sole yard instructor was great and made the school a better experience overall but, he needs help with the amount of students he had to manage. There should be at least two instructors to help with people in the automatic class and people in the standard class... Get that yard fixed and get the instructor some help to make this a way better experience for students.

Best school to get your class A

This school is very informative. In addition to your normal instruction, they add information that all drivers should know, but probably do not.. Example: Railroad crossings have a (emergency) blue sign with the railroads contact information (should a vehicle get stalled or stuck on the tracks) to call and get the trains stopped before tragic strikes. I passed my pre-trip, skills test and road test in one shot due to the excellant instruction i received . Thank you 160 for helping me achieve my goal!!!!

I got that GOLD CARD

There are a lot of school to achieve your Ls.. that what we call em nowadays.. my brother graduated from DDA & I chose a different route, 160 Academy was a great choice for me! I can’t speak on everyone else’s experience but for me, it was a very nice, open eyeing experience. I joined school in April and finished in October. The classroom part of the course was short & sweet. Nlaftwr that it’s time for the yard training, now that I’ve graduated I can say go in with a open mind, it’ll help you in a long run! I had great instructors who actually cared for the lesson, instead of ppl who just teaching! Everyone experience will be different but I am so thankful and pleased with my choice of 160 Academy and im sure if you choose them you would be as well!

Peoria IL 160 Gets You There

Getting my CDL by attending 160 Driving Academy was a great experience. First off speaking with Tiffany about the classroom and then the driving she was spot on how and what you could expect. She was very knowledgeable and professional. After the week of class I went to the DMV and tested for my permit which I felt well prepared for from the classroom learning. I passed the written test and went on to learn how to drive a truck for the next four weeks. Doug and Jay were instructors for teaching this part. During this part I highly recommend not only learning from the instructors but work with the other classmates practicing what is being taught for pre-trip inspection. Doug and Jay were not only professional and knowledgeable about teaching how to do the pre-trip and drive. I felt safety was always on their minds. The whole experience went by with a feeling I was learning about preparing for testing to get my CDL and starting a new career. My plan from the beginning was to find a part time job since I am retired. Well, I can honestly say I have not had a problem finding work. I could drive full-time with no problem hauling asphalt, gravel, sand, etc. I even called Tiffany and Doug, letting them know how companies are looking for drivers. One other thing is that several of us from the class have become friends and stay in contact with each other. They also say how they are enjoying their new career.
