What comes to mind when you think of truck driving jobs? Most likely, it’s an image of a days-long trek across the country, stopping at truck stops, and sleeping in the front seat. However, this is just one category of truck driver jobs available to graduates of 160 Driving Academy. There is a whole world of opportunities available to individuals with Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs).
Many CDL jobs are based locally within the Boise area, allowing you to sleep in your own bed at night. If you have the proper endorsements and skills, you are considered specialized and can make more money and have more CDL career opportunities available to you. At 160 Driving Academy, our instructors and CDL training course can prepare you for a wide range of truck driving jobs. Keep reading to find out more.
Boise CDL Careers and Specialized Endorsements
With just 160 hours of instruction and training, you will have the knowledge and experience needed to pass your CDL licensing exam. Forty hours of your training is spent in the classroom, and the other 120 hours are spent on the road learning to drive with our professional driving instructors. In addition, if you already have a Class A license, we can also help you earn specialized endorsements to help you increase your pay and access to job opportunities.
While your CDL automatically qualifies you for typical commercial driving jobs with a starting pay of $55,990* minimum, taking a specialized endorsement test could qualify you for higher paying jobs. You may also be eligible for a wider variety of jobs, including transporting Hazardous Materials (HazMat) or transporting oversized cargo (double/triple trailers, construction vehicles, etc.).
Some of the jobs our CDL truck driving classes prepare you for include:
- Long-Haul Trucking
- Local Deliveries
- Specialized Careers, Including Hazmat Delivery and Double/Triple Trailers
No matter your ideal trucking job, we can help you reach your destination. If you’re ready to learn more about how to earn your CDL, call our Boise location today to speak to one of our qualified staff members. You can also fill out our online registration form to request more information.
