There are several precautions that you can take to save you and your car from the hazards of winter.

  1. Keep extra space between you and the car in front of you.
  2. SLOW DOWN- A lot of spinouts occur when people get cocky and speed.
  3. Clean your windows.  If you can’t see, don’t drive.
  4. Decrease your speed on hills and turns.
  5. Pump your breaks at stops and start stopping long before you get to the intersection.
  6. Keep your gas tank at least half full.
  7. Keep your tires clear of snow buildup in the wheel well.
  8. Raise or cover your wipers to prevent freezing.
  9. Watch carefully for cars before you go across the intersection. 
  10. Look and steer where you want to go to help with skidding.
